In which John Green examines the question of whether President Barack Obama is a Muslim in the wake of a recent opinion poll showing that more than one fifth of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim. Along the way, the five pillars of Islam are discussed: belief in the unity of God and the prophethood of Muhammad (shahada), prayer (salat), alms-giving (zakat), fasting (sawm), and pilgrimage (hajj).

I wish everyone in this stupid country would watch this video and listen the logic, reasoning, and COMMON SENSE that John uses. I always get so pissed when someone says to me, “Obama is a Muslim.” And, even if he was a Muslim, SO WHAT? Muslims can be presidents too, as well as Jews, Christians, idiots, smart people, and sometimes a few of those combined. Thank you so mcuh for this video, John.
I agree totally. If he is a good leader, and gets things done, he could worship grass for all I care.
My family’s minister worked with Obama in Gary, IN back in the eighties. They did Christian charity projects. He sure didn’t seem like a Muslim to her.
