Cooking with a 3-Year-Old: The Mac & Cheese and Communist Celery Edition

by on February 26, 2013

In which my 3-year-old son Henry and I cook macaroni and cheese, boiled asparagus, communist celery, blueberries, and sweet potato fries for dinner while Sarah is out of town. Hilarity ensues.

I’m thinking Henry’s “DVFTBA” should become the new standard – Don’t VEVER Forget To Be Awesome. Verily? Vulcan? Vainly?

Nicely done sir, as usual.

Thanks for making me smile this afternoon. Work days after snow days are the roughest; they drag on forever. I particularly enjoyed Henry’s contributions to this video.

Be careful with boiling water and pots around a toddler, you should always keep the handles the other way so that they cannot reach and have an accident. Sorry for the critique I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you John Green!!! and want to keep your child safe :))))

Forgot what cooking with a 3-year-old is like, since my own once-3-year-old is now 30. (Actually, I’ve forgotten what cooking is like!) Had to smile when I saw this. P.S. She’s right about the pot handles facing into the stove, not hanging over the edge. (Sorry, I work in a clinic for kids.)

I’m going to take your advice and make this later. It seems very delicious. Especially the sour juice. Hope your son liked the communist celery. :)
